Furious 7 easily held on to the #1 spot at the box office this weekend, taking in an estimated $60.6 million. The film also set a new opening day record in China, where it debuted this weekend with $68.6 million. Having already become highest-grossing installment in the franchise with $800 million, the flick is on track to become one of the biggest movies ever by crossing the $1 billion mark. Meanwhile, Dreamworks’ animated film Home held second place with an estimated $19 million earned. And Nicholas Sparks’ The Longest Ride landed in third by debuting with $13.5 million.
