Surfers to Hit the Greens to Support Cancer Foundation

Sand on the links may look different than what we find on the beaches of South Jersey, but you’re likely to see a lot of surfers standing in the sand to benefit people with cancer.
The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation is riding a wave of success from its Freeze for a Cause and is hanging up its wetsuits and slipping on golf shoes for the 11th annual Golf For A Cause Saturday, April 11 at Mays Landing Country Club.
“The Golf for a Cause is one our most fun events to present in an effort to raise funds for people battling cancer,” said Immediate Past President Dan Cellucci of Northfield. “The event gives our non-surfing supporters a chance to participate, support our mission and interact with some of the people who benefit from generosity.”
The 18-hole scramble format golf tournament is $100 per player and includes cart and greens fees, lunch, dinner, event T-shirt and a goodie bag of items donated by event sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $100.
Registration begins with lunch at noon and tournament will begin with a 1 p.m. shot gun start. In the 4-person scramble format includes prizes for teams in first through third places and for closest to the pin and longest drive, a 50-50 putting contest, 50-50, raffle and door prizes.
