NYPD officer Brian Moore was one of them, earning multiple service medals before he was shot in the head by a career criminal in Queens on Saturday. Yesterday, the 25-year-old Moore was pronounced dead after lying in a coma; prosecutors will now file first-degree murder charges against Demetrius Blackwell. “He risked his life for a very simple notion: to keep everyone else safe, to keep our society safe, to keep order,“ New York City mayor Bill de Blasio said of Moore.
