Boston Bomber Found Guilty, Could Face Death Penalty

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found guilty yesterday of all 30 charges levied against him in the fatal Boston Marathon bombings of 2013.

Three people were killed and 260 more injured in the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11, and 17 of the charges Tsarnaev was convicted of carry the possibility of the death penalty (a second phase of the trial will deal with how severely to punish Tsarnaev).

The jury, which deliberated for only 11 hours, did not buy Tsarnaev’s argument that he was psychologically manipulated by his murderous older brother, Tamerlan, who died after an encounter with police while the two were on the lam.
